Islam was the first in place to give the rights to the woman. Europe was in dark up until 18th century giving no rights to women. Islam has given the rights for the woman for centuries including inheritance. Anyone that oppresses a woman is not following Islam. “the best among you are those who treat their wives well.” Islam is arguably the most discussed religion in the west today, in both media and society. Islam has strongly emphasized the concept of decency and modesty. It is to protect the family values and often misunderstood as rights against women.

Jesus is believed to be a prophet who neither married nor had any children and is reflected as a significant figure, being found in the Quran in 93 verses with various titles attached such as “Son of Mary” and other relational terms, mentioned directly and indirectly, over 187 times

It is interesting to note that Jesus (Isa) is mentioned 25 times directly in his name whereas 48 times in third person and 35 times in first person. The prophet is also mentioned in various other verses where his attributes are written in detail. These facts make Jesus (AS) one of the most mentioned prophets in the Quran.

Mary in fact is considered as the most righteous woman in the Quran and is a respected figure in the Muslim community. Astonishingly, Mary’s name is mentioned more times in the Quran as compared to the New Testament. We can see that the Quran is also more inclined towards a mother’s importance in a son’s life and hence has given paramount importance to Mary in the Holy Quran.

Belief in Jesus Christ is considered as a core principal of Islam as he is revered to be a Prophet who preached monotheism to the people of Israel or Jews. The Holy Quran asserts that it is compulsory to acknowledge Jesus as a Prophet of Allah and the message he spread at that time was the true one. (Quran, 2:136) clearly states the acceptance of Prophethood of Jesus “Say, ‘We believe in God and in what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and all the prophets by their Lord.”
